Step 5: Build your scene by hot gluing objects onto the wood square. Inside the circle is where you will build your scene. Again using the circle paper template place it in center of wood square and trace, this space is your “creative field”. Step 4: Sand edges of plywood square smooth. TRY TO BE AS NEAT AS POSSIBLE HERE and be sure to cut off all of the black marker. Step 3: Cut around the marker line for a perfect circle. Step 2: Place the 2″ circle paper template over the opening and trace with a black sharpie. Don’t worry about being neat here the goal is to remove the neck and have a wide enough opening for scissors. Step 1: Using an x-acto knife cut around the ornament opening enough to remove the neck portion.
The faux snow will cover any unsightly hot glue and adds just that tiny bit of sparkle.Īdd a small wood ball on top to compliment the wood base with a string for hanging and you have a keepsake ornament that will look beautiful on or off the tree. Add a little faux snow and you have the cutest little winter scene. I used bottle brush trees, wire candy canes and a wood dowel sign with the family name printed on cardstock. You can put nearly anything inside the snow globe as long as it fits under the dome. The globe is plastic and the entire ornament is very lightweight so it won’t weigh down your tree branches! This snow globe ornament is constructed on a wood base where all the interior pieces can be glued to the base and then the clear globe is placed over the scene.

These are just too fun and easy to make – after waiting for my lids to dry, I made all 4 of these in under a half hour. Go ahead and shake them up and watch the magic in their eyes! They are perfect for a centerpiece, on a mantel, in a window sill or little kids hands ? Since your trees and snowmen are glued to the lid, you can now pick up the lids and screw them back on to the jar. Just add enough snow to cover the bottom of the jar. You don’t need much, you don’t want the snow to bury your snowmen or trees. Now you are ready to hot glue your trees and snowmen to the lids (I also glued the canning lids together). Next, and this is totally optional (step not shown) – I sprayed the trees and snowmen with spray adhesive then sprinkled with glitter for a little extra sparkle. I used the Krylon Glitter Blast in silver, but white would work just as well. Start by removing the lids and paint them with the spray paint.
